The main function of the shock absorber is to damp the vibration between the frame and the body, and improve the smoothness and warmth of the car. Nowadays, two-way effect cylinder shock absorbers are commonly used in cars. Shock absorber is a vulnerable part in the process of car operation. The operation of shock absorber will directly affect the stability of the car and the life of other parts.
Therefore, we should keep the shock absorber always in excellent working condition. Generally, the following methods can be used to check whether the shock absorber works well. Press the bumper firmly and then release it. Assuming that the car has 2 to 3 jumps, it means that the shock absorber works well. When the car travels slowly and brakes urgently, if the car oscillates more violently, it indicates that there is a problem with the shock absorber.
Remove the shock absorber and stand it upright, and clamp the lower end connecting ring to the vise, and then forcefully pull the damping rod several times. There should be stable resistance at this moment, and the resistance of pulling upwards should be greater than the resistance of pressing downwards. If the resistance is not stable or there is no resistance, it may be due to lack of oil inside the shock absorber or damage to the valve parts. Correction or replacement of parts should be stopped.
Make the car travel 10km on the road with poor road conditions and park, touch the shock absorber shell with your hands, and if it is not hot, it means that there is no resistance inside the shock absorber and the shock absorber does not work. At this moment, you can participate in the appropriate lubricating oil, and then stop the experiment. If the shell is hot, the shock absorber is short of oil, and enough oil should be added; otherwise, the shock absorber has failed. After confirming that there is a problem or failure of the shock absorber, check whether the shock absorber is leaking oil or has traces of old oil leakage.
