1. Check whether the shock absorber is leaking
A slight oil leakage is normal. When the oil leakage is serious, it is mainly due to the wear or damage of the oil seal, the liner is broken and crushed, or the screw plug is loose. The oil seal and liner should be replaced, and the screw plug should be tightened. Generally, the shock absorber is not repaired and must be replaced.
2. Check whether the shock absorber is working normally.
In the absence of a shock absorber performance test bench, the quality of the shock absorber is generally judged based on feeling and experience.
After the car has been running on a bad road for a period of time, it is normal to touch the shock absorber with your hand. If it is not hot, it means that there is no resistance and it is no longer effective in damping;
If the shock absorber makes an abnormal noise, it means that the shock absorber is damaged and must be replaced;
If the temperature of the two shock absorbers is high and the other is low, and the difference is large, the lower one has little resistance or no resistance, generally due to lack of oil or damaged valve parts, etc., should be replaced.
3. Check the effectiveness of the shock absorber.
For cars, it can be checked on the car.
In the workshop, several people can press down the bumper forcefully. First, forcefully press the upper body part of the shock absorber and vibrate several times. After releasing, if it can vibrate more than two times, it indicates that the efficiency of the shock absorber has not been reduced.
When removing and checking, the shock absorber should be fixed, and there should be a certain resistance when moving the piston rod up and down, and the upward resistance is greater than the downward resistance. If the resistance is too large, check whether the piston rod is bent; if there is no resistance, it means that the oil of the front shock absorber damper has leaked or failed and must be replaced.
