Trailing arm type independent suspension refers to the suspension structure in which the wheels swing in the longitudinal plane of the car. It is divided into two types: single trailing arm and double trailing arm. The single trailing arm suspension will cause a large change in the caster angle of the kingpin when the wheels jump up and down, so the single trailing arm suspension is not used on the steering wheels. The two swing arms of the double trailing arm suspension are generally made of equal length, forming a parallel four-bar structure, so that the caster angle of the kingpin remains unchanged when the wheel jumps up and down. The double trailing arm suspension is mostly used on steering wheels.
